“Hunger is the world’s greatest solvable problem”, according to the World Food Programme. Yet the facts are stunning*:

• Each year, 3 million children under five die of preventable, hunger-related causes
• Around the world, 805 million people are hungry--nearly 1 in 9 globally.
• It costs just $0.25 daily to provide a child with all the nutrients they need to grow up healthy.
• 66 million primary-school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world, with 23 million in Africa alone.
• Hunger is number one on the list of the world’s top 10 health risks. It kills more people every year than AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis combined.
• By 2050, climate change and erratic weather patterns could push another 24 million children into hunger.

Giving meals means you concretely help to solve the solvable problem of hunger. Solving hunger builds our next generation of children as hunger lays the foundation for health and education, and enables children to reach their full potential when they grow up. Solving hunger also builds a stronger and safer world as hunger leads to civil unrest, undermining peace and stability.*
